More Than A Pretty Picture .

Heeeyyyy peeps!!

Todays post is sparked by a question that I was asked. The question was simply, "What is photography to you?" So

I figured I would answer that question here. To me photography is more than just a pretty picture. It's more than just lighting and angles. It's more than perfect poses and color schemes. To me photography is also about the experience. Each and every client is different. As a photographer I feel it is my job to make each person feel as comfortable as possible with me so that they will feel comfortable with my camera. It doesn't matter how much talent you have if the experience isn't a great one. I want every client I have to remember how they felt every time they look at their photos.

Setting the atmosphere for an amazing experience starts at booking. I believe that it is important to get to know your client, that means ask questions. What are the important things to your clients. Do the research. Once you are at your session make sure that you put the things into practice that you've learned about your client. For me I find that being myself allows me to be comfortable with my clients no matter what kind of session I am doing. They feed off of my energy. I know that if I am having an off day it's going to show in my images.

So it's my job to make sure that any issues I have are put on the backburner until after I am done. Once my camera comes out the only thing that matters is my client. I also believe that it is important to make sure that you stay engaged with your client during the session. Have conversation, share some laughs, and play some music.

The way I see it, at the end of the day the way each client feels during and after their photoshoot is just as important as the pictures that I take. For those photographers that are just starting I advise making your shooting style your own. Just because something works for someone else doesn't mean it will work for you. Create your own style. You don't always have to follow the rules that other people set. Make it your own.
